Living the dream one day at a time...
I met Moon in January of 2012. I was a budding (broke) teacher trying to hustle some passes to Yogafesta in exchange for something else out of my bag of tricks: photography. She was gracious enough to grant me the opportunity. Since then, she has continued to be my godmother of good fortune: encouraging me, continuing to take me under her wing and grant me access to a world that seemed wholly beyond my grasp as a sweaty, stressed, new teacher.
Moon encourages me not only with her invitations but with her own inspired fire that drives her to keep reimagining the framework for a "yoga workshop." Her latest event: "It's Art! Yoga Meets Art @ Gong Art Space," brought together many elements dear to both her and me: yoga, art and community.
Together with my trusted partner, Brittney Desch, we brought the work of acroyoga we've been building from the ground up to this event in Seoul. It was an event like no other. It was a small intimate space surrounded by original pieces of contemporary art. In addition to the workshop, Brittney and I were asked to give a short acro demonstration. A first on many fronts, we couldn't have been more thrilled for everything that was happening.
Thank you Moon. Thank you Brittney. Thank you Simon for giving us a visual record of this very important milestone. Thank you Hee Jung and Eric for making the trek up North. Thank you Aesun for flipflopping your life's schedule to attend. Thanks to everyone for their love, support, encouragement, and enthusiasm diving into realizing new possibilities of this "practice."
