kaizen yoga korea

Hi, I’m Mindy! Welcome to Kaizen Yoga Korea.

  • Over the past decade plus, Kaizen has been through many different incarnations. In that time, Kaizen has grown from a yoga practice into a teaching system, and a community—each version shaped by an ongoing search for how to move better, reduce pain, and build a sustainable relationship with the self and others.

What I needed at 29 is not what I need at 43.
The goals changed. The body changed. The questions changed.

And with that, the way I practice and teach has changed too.

Kaizen is built on the understanding that there is no one “right” way to move—only what works for you, right now.

Instead of forcing the body into fixed systems, we learn how to adapt, adjust, and listen. Part of that adaptation is recognizing the need for connection beyond ourselves into a greater community.

Now and always, we are better together.

    -Mindy, March 202

  • • we are better together

    • yoga should be accessible

    • the practice should meet the students where they are

    • teaching should be simple, consensual and student-centered

    • the best teaching empowers students with agency over their practice

    • pain is a conversation we need to learn how to translate

    • movement is medicine

    • learning is a life-long endeavor

    • life is long. Take your time.

    • don't worry- it’s just yoga.

  • Better Together came from my profound experience discovering and learning AcroYoga. It was profound for how it challenged my body, elucidated stuck parts in my interpersonal communication and represented the practice being part of something bigger- an increasingly connected community. Though I didn't stick with acroyoga as a singular practice, I still carry and convey the deep teachings of reciprocity and support lifted by a belief that great things are possible when we don't go it alone.

  • Everything we do at Kaizen is built around one idea:
there is no single “correct” way to move—only what works for you, right now.

That shows up in a few different ways:

    • Group classes to explore movement in a shared space

    • 1:1 sessions to work through pain, injury, or specific goals

    • Workshops to dive deeper into how the body works

    • Online programs to support your practice anywhere

These are just different entry points.

we are better together.

“Better Together” is our ethos and the namesake of Kaizen's Yoga Alliance approved 200hr teacher training course. Launched in 2017 with a humble group of 5 trainees, the program has grown to be a cornerstone of the new generation of Busan yoga and beyond. We are so honored to include trainees, not only from around Korea, but Holland, Hong Kong and Switzerland who have sought out Kaizen's unique training.

What makes Kaizen's TTC the best 200hr program available anywhere? “Accessible” is a buzzword in the yoga community right now- but HOW? And secondly- WHY? It's not enough to hand students a strap if they can't reach their foot. What is the limitation? Why is it happening? How do you work to overcome that limtatation?

Mindy has rehabbed two serious injuries: ACL reconstruction and 10 years of chronic low back pain. Her experience adjusting postures for various circumstances is the foundation of this program. You will learn what to look for, what questions to ask, and how to make amendments to meet the unique needs of students.

This is backed by an outstanding Yoga Anatomy program led by a practicing Physical Therapist out of Toronto and former Kaizen student, Stephanie Kwok.
