This 1-day intensive is the perfect tune up for those looking to refine and revisit their asana practice. Students may do one, two or all three modules!
Part I | Therapeutic Backbending
This 2hr module is for EVERYONE- especially those experiencing and living with chronic back pain. This class will begin by identifying the culprits of chronic back pain- not all originate from the same place. From there we put together poses and dynamic movements to start breaking through these "stuck" spots.
Part II | Inversions
This 2hr module is a really great progression from the backbending. Often the physical stumbling blocks of inversions come from resistance on the shoulders and middle back that can lead to wrist-shoulder-low back pain when students add weight in inversions. We will also learn techniques for acclimating ourselves to the "calculated risk" of inversions. (Students are strongly urged to take part I if interested in taking part II as it prepares the body in a way that isn't possible in just 90 minutes.)
Part III | Restorative
Module III brings everything full circle, physically, mentally, energetically. 4hrs of yoga is hard work! Here we balance the body and put gas back in the tank with 75mins of mindful rest and relaxation meant to compliment our earlier dynamic sessions.
